Construction Updates, current as of 12.16.2024ā
Over the past few weeks, our team has made significant progress on several key
Measure O construction projects across Pasadena Unified School District, including work at Pasadena and Rose City high schools; Marshall Fundamental Secondary School; Jackson STEAM Multilingual Magnet; Sierra Madre and Wilson middle schools; Eliot Magnet Arts Academy; and Norma Coombs and San Rafael elementary schools.
These projects are moving forward on schedule and are each aimed at improving
facilities and ensuring a better learning environment for all our students.āāāāāāāāāāā
Pasadena High School Identity Project
This week, our team continued work in front of buildings A and V at Pasadena High School. The crew formed and poured gray concrete, and began preparations for pouring colored concrete. Landscaping and grading work continued in front of building A. Looking ahead, our focus will be on pouring the colored concrete and continuing landscaping and irrigation work. Anyone who wishes to access the main office should enter from the walkway located east of the auditorium off Sierra Madre Boulevard.
Marshall Fundamental Softball Field Project
To continue improving the softball field at Marshall Fundamental Secondary School, our team installed fence fabric for the new chain link fence, and made preparations for the new accessible concrete pathway connecting the south and north fields. Next, we will continue work on fencing upgrades and field grading.
Districtwide Front Entry Security Project
The District is continuing to install security systems at front entrances Districtwide, with Jackson STEAM Multilingual Magnet’s, Norma Coombs Elementary School’s, Sierra Madre and Wilson middle schools’, Rose City High School’s, and Eliot Magnet Arts Academy’s systems installed this week. The systems are fully operational and act like a doorbell system, allowing office personnel to have live video and audio of the individual requesting entry to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Our team will install front entry security systems at Altadena Elementary School and Blair High School next.
Security Door Lockset Replacement Project
To continue upgrading security across the District, our crew installed 57 indicator locks and 14 new doors with locks at San Rafael Elementary School, and 205 indicator locks at Pasadena High School.Coming up, we will replace the locks at Marshall Fundamental Secondary School, and will conduct final inspections and work to complete the Districtwide lock replacement project.
